It's not every day that you get a phone call from Karen Taylor Gist, the editor of Wish, the upscale shopping guide that appears in the New Orleans Times- Picayune newspaper. So when she called me wanting to do a feature on me and Passion Lilie, I was beyond thrilled. I am so grateful for this feature, so... without further ado... go check it out here!
Two of our favorites GoNola.com and Invade.com have some great suggestions for gifts that give back from local makers based in New Orleans. Click the photos to read more about their favorites including yours truly- Passion Lilie.
And if you are not local- don't worry. All these great makers also sell online, many with fabulous holiday specials. Passion Lilie is offering free shipping all month!
In the past 10 years, I have spent as much time on international soil as in the United States, and therefore, I celebrated many independence days outside of my homeland.
However, this 4th of July I am in New Orleans, and feeling particularly patriotic and lucky to call the United States my home.
This country, and especially this city (New Orleans) has given me the opportunity to live my dream – to not only be a designer, but to have a successful clothing line that supports women in other countries with a fair and living wage.
This 4th of July don’t forget that the American dream is still alive. So dream big and put in the sweat to make it happen.
All of the women out there understand, that is not easy for a female in the business world, and so I am especially grateful for the support from my community and my customers.
And don’t forget to check out our little 4th of July segment on WWL TV. Tiffany Napper of Flying Fox, and I give fashion tips on how to be fashionably patriotic.
